$20 Date Night: Habit's Cafe and Aglamesis Bros.

Habit's Cafe:
Habit's Burger with Sweet Potato Fries
  • This small, cozy restaurant is a mainstay spot for enjoying a simple, no-frills meal while watching a sporting event or enjoying a quiet evening out. Located in the heart of Historic Oakley, Habit's serves a variety of different, familiar dishes that are great for a cold October afternoon. I recommend trying either the Habit's Burger or the White Chicken Chili. They also offer an Ostrich burger for all the foodies out there. Habit's is the standby joint for many residents of Oakley and offers a small-town, comforting feel for a low price.

Aglamesis Brothers:

Left: Chocolate Milkshake
Right: Root Beer Milkshake
  • This is by far, one of the most endearing and adorable places in which I have ever been. Aglamesis is one of the few remaining authentic ice cream parlors. Established in 1913, this beautiful little shop contains Tiffany lamps, marble counters, and pink heart-back chairs. This is seriously a must-try for anyone living in Cincinnati. After taking your seat in one of the little tables in the rear of the shop, a server will come to give you a menu and take your order. Classic ice cream parlor options include sodas, shakes, and Italian ices. Some of their signature flavors are the Dutch Holland Chocolate, Banana Chocolate Chip, and Pumpkin ice cream. I went with Adam and my little brother Jacob. I ordered the hot fudge sundae, and the two boys ordered chocolate and root beer milk shakes. The sundae was by far the best I've ever eaten. The ice cream tasted like something out of a black and white movie with a diner scene. The fudge was done perfectly, smooth and sweet with real fudge. Adam and Jacob loved their shakes that came with homemade vanilla wafers and the blender cup for refills. Everything was so wonderfully filled with nostalgia. In my opinion, Aglamesis is the best ice cream shop in Cincinnati and by far the cutest.

  1. If you want to meet people in Perth for blind dating then I guess it is a good place to try because people there are very friendly and wise. Twenty dollars for a date in Habit’s CafĂ© sounds like a good deal for me. I am interested to try their White Chicken chili for the reason that I love spicy food.
